Hettich: Illumination – AvanTech YOU now with light signature

High-quality and individual in shop and kitchen

Individuality is the freedom to choose. The growing megatrend of individualization increases the customer’s desire for personal freedom of design, be it in trendy shop design or in kitchen and living room furniture. The versatile drawer platform AvanTech YOU from Hettich captures this spirit of the times.

The inventor of the drawer platform has now added an attractive design variant to its current system: each drawer can be given its own LED light signature with the “AvanTech YOU Illumination” feature.

The AvanTech YOU drawer system makes it very easy to implement individual customer designs in terms of colour, format and material. All components within the platform can be combined with each other, which allows a wide range with lean, flexible production at low costs in production and storage.

Hettich: Homogeneous LED light in clip-on profiles: “AvanTech YOU Illumination” gives the furniture its own LED light signature if required. Photo: Hettich

If desired, AvanTech YOU can now even give the furniture its own light signature: Homogeneous LED light at 4,000 °K in clip-on profiles illuminates the open drawers from the inside or sets atmospheric accents on the outside.

Glass inlays with polished or ground edges can also be shown in the best light: the LED signature creates special visual effects every time the drawer is pulled out. The necessary energy is supplied by a practical, rechargeable battery pack.

This eliminates the need for complex electrical connections, and the high-quality design with light signature is easy to install and can be implemented without additional technical effort.

This special design achievement by Hettich has already won several international awards, including the “Interzum Award 2021” and the “Red Dot Design Award 2022“.

For manufacturers like Nolte Küchen, the economic platform AvanTech YOU gives them the scope they need to offer discerning kitchen customers in the high-quality segment an attractive drawer design with an exclusive touch and noticeable quality.

Even more design freedom

Hettich AvanTech YOU Illumination is easy to install: the light bar with the homogeneous LED light in 4,000 K can simply be clipped onto the AvanTech YOU frame. Photo: Hettich

The 13 mm slim AvanTech YOU frame with invisibly integrated panel adjustment function enables an elegant and flawless design in every version.

Even in the standard range, the platform allows an enormous variety of combinations: With clip-on design profiles or design caps, different visual accents can be set again and again within the standard range. And with the frame inlays, individual design requests can even be realized in the customer’s desired material.

As a new, attractive component, the “AvanTech YOU Illumination” feature expands the economical drawer platform from Hettich. For kitchen and furniture manufacturers, this opens up further opportunities to stand out clearly from the competition and to offer their discerning customers an attractive drawer design with an exclusive touch and noticeable quality, even in the high-quality segment.

Lighting is awarded

Red Dot Award winner 2022: The AvanTech YOU Illumination feature from Hettich sets elegant light signatures on drawers. Photo: Hettich

Hettich is a three-time winner of the world-renowned design prize Red Dot Award in the “Product Design” category.

The AvanTech YOU Illumination feature, the Push to open Silent damping system for revolving doors and the Quadro Compact FE 20 drawer runner for wine refrigerators received awards for outstanding design quality.

With its three award-winning products, Hettich makes it clear that innovative fittings often form the basis for sophisticated and functional furniture design. The AvanTech YOU drawer system goes one step further and is the ultimate platform for design diversity.

In addition to the free choice of colour, format and material, the newly awarded AvanTech YOU Illumination adds emotional appeal with light: homogeneous LED light at 4,000 °K in clip-on design profiles illuminates the open drawers from the inside or sets atmospheric accents on the outside.

And glass inlays with polished or ground edges are also presented in the best light thanks to AvanTech YOU Illumination. The technology works without additional cables in the furniture and can therefore be easily retrofitted.

Hettich: Homeoffice ideas

Working at home in the best of moods

It’s high time to start thinking about high quality furniture concepts for your own four walls.

The new Homeoffice ideas book from Hettich shows how this can be done: with practical and easily implemented solutions that not only look good but also leave no margin of doubt in terms of function.

Office furniture manufacturers and designers need to adapt to changing market needs.

Very popular to date, open-plan offices are facing unimagined competition.

Because working from a home based office has been booming since the Corona pandemic, and this option will remain an integral part of the working world in the future.

Living and working – the best of both worlds
Hettich: Tired of sitting? A power assisted height adjustable desk makes working at home much more comfortable. Photo: Hettich

When working from home, the question is all about cleverly integrating a practical workplace into existing living spaces.

After all, you want to work comfortably and productively from home too.

Combining the best of both worlds – that’s the approach at Hettich. The manufacturer knows all market segments inside out.

Hettich has been present in the office sector with numerous fitting systems for decades and, on the subject of working from home too, the company regularly presents its innovative home furniture concepts that often only reveal the “workplace” function at second glance.

In the lavishly illustrated Homeoffice ideas book, Hettich once again shows its broad creative spectrum.

The focus is on convenient and well-designed home furniture that also demonstrates its qualities in the home based office.

Hettich: Productive work corner: requiring little space, yet everything in easy reach. Photo: Hettich

The result is the perfect symbiosis of living and working with a wealth of new functions.

This ranges from a small desk in a quiet corner to various items of compact multifunctional furniture and a “professionally” equipped home based office in a separate room.

All of the concepts presented can be easily implemented with the current product range.

As a trend scout and source of ideas, Hettich offers the industry precisely the practical fittings that are now needed in the home based office – and which in future will gain more and more significance in this sector.

Multifunctional, attractive and convenient
Hettich: Working as if in a real office: a separate study is ideal for work concentration but also for receiving customers. Photo: Hettich

The classic divide between home living and working is disappearing.

In “new” everyday office life, the activity determines the location: being able to concentrate when working from home on the one hand, but also creative teamwork with colleagues who prefer to remain in the office.

Planning furniture for the home based office demands a high degree of multifunctionality and excellent utilisation of space.

This is where the high quality fitting and pull-out systems from Hettich make optimum use of storage space while providing top functionality with clever features and details.

And yet all without compromising on attractive, appealing design either. Because working at home should be homely, and that’s what is instantly seen from looking at Hettich’s ideas for the home based office.

Anyone regularly doing office work from home should, of course, invest in a comfortable desk chair. But that’s only the beginning: a dining table may be inviting but a proper desk is more ergonomic.

Working is made even more comfortable and healthy if the table is height-adjustable, letting you to switch from sitting to standing. – Easy to do, for example, with the LegaDrive power-assisted lifting column system.

Personal work utensils can also be stored in many ways in the home based office: whether in the small SmarTray pencil tray or in the spacious Big Org@Tower Wood organisation system.

The AvanTech YOU, ArciTech or InnoTech Atira drawer platforms open up further options for planning furniture. Smoothly running drawer runners, such as Quadro, Actro or Actro 5D, provide a high level of user convenience in a private home based office too.

Why must a shelf unit in a home based office always look the same? Sliding and folding door systems, such as SlideLine, VerticoSynchro or WingLine, create ever changing constellations of open and closed elements.

Pull-out shelves on the Quadro runner give the user additional, practical storage surfaces when needed.

Further interesting design options are provided by “hiding” areas, functions or appliances whenever they are not needed.

This is the perfect solution for anyone liking a tidy home: at the end of the day, the work utensils – and alternatively the entire home office space – then disappear behind folding doors, leaving everything out of view.

Or how about a multifunctional piece of furniture that provides a short-term workplace and can then be turned back into a smart glass display cabinet in seconds flat?

raumplus: Planning and creating doors up to an impressive three meters high

For doors with format

A small abbreviation makes all the difference: »RPE« is the name of the aluminum-frame hinge door presented at the IMM 2020, with which raumplus now also offers the option of planning and creating doors up to an impressive three meters high.

The new door, which has been in the range since April, has already proven that it has the knack of XL formats in style.

From old buildings to lofts – anyone who lives or works in high rooms wants to take advantage of this feature with the appropriate storage space. But usually such highflying plans have clear construction limits.

With its latest development, raumplus has successfully overcome these.

raumplus: Handle profiles recessed into the aluminium frames ensure that users always have a firm grip on the extra-high doors. Photo: raumplus

The carcase-bound »RPE aluminium frame hinge door«, which is guided by two hinges on the top and bottom of the cabinet, has an extra-high dimension of 62 x 275 cm as standard and is also available in formats ranging from a minimum of 30 x 200 cm to a maximum of 62 x 300 cm.

raumplusThis enables planners and interior designers to create cabinets and fixtures that go well beyond the normal size range.

There is also no need to be restricted in terms of design: With the colors anodized Black, Dark Bronze and Silver, three contemporary variants are available for the profile surfaces.

The range of fillings is even wider: in addition to float and tempered safety glass you can choose from mirror and numerous decorative fillings, or even choose a foil bonding with individual digital printing.

raumplus: Aluminium frame door RPE and Swing Door Slim Line. Photo: raumplus

To ensure that users always have a firm grip on the extra-high doors, there are attached ashlar handles with a hollow profile or, alternatively, handle profiles recessed into the aluminium frames – both in a matching surface color.

The raumplus »RPE aluminium-frame hinge door« thus opens up new possibilities for implementing large furnishing plans in a way that is as elegant as it is versatile. At the company‘s Bremen location, in exclusive quality Made in Germany.

Hailo Tandem AntiBak: the new built-in waste separation system with an antibacterial effect

Highest hygiene requirements for waste systems

The topic of hygiene is currently very popular. There is still room for improvement in waste systems.

With the Hailo Tandem AntiBak, Hailo now has a waste separation system in its program that reduces bacterial development by 99.9 percent – thanks to an innovative surface structure.

Whether at home, in the office or in sensitive rooms such as doctor’s surgeries or hospitals – waste disposal systems are among the zones in which there are increased hygiene requirements because the multiplication of bacteria can quickly become a problem there.

With the AntiBak line, Hailo now has a built-in waste separation system in its portfolio, which thanks to its innovative surface structure ensures that bacterial contamination on the plastic parts is reduced by 99.9 percent.

Equipped with silver ions

The special structure of the plastics used prevents germs of all kinds from germinating. All plastic surfaces such as the system lid, handle panel and inner bucket are antibacterially treated with the addition of silver ions.

The exceptionally high antibacterial speed of action is still active after 15 years and thus offers permanent antimicrobial protection.

The extensively tested material works against more than 50 types of bacteria.

The waste system has a food approval according to FDA. It contains no nano-silver and is safe to use – both for kitchen makers and for the end user. A test certificate is available.

Also suitable for hospitals and medical practices
Hailo: Tandem AntiBak built-in waste separation system. Picture: Hailo Werk

With these properties, Hailo Tandem AntiBak is not only suitable for private households: hospitals, medical practices and other medical facilities can also use the product to ensure higher hygiene standards.

Kindergartens, schools, authorities, offices, restaurants and the like are also potential locations.

Hailo Tandem AntiBak is suitable for installation in hinged door cabinets from 30 cm wide. A plastic system lid hygienically covers the two 15 liter inner buckets after being pushed into the cabinet and also serves as a practical storage space for utensils.

Installation and operation are also convenient: the Hailo Tandem AntiBak is simply attached to the cabinet floor with four screws. High-quality materials and smooth-running pull-out rails ensure good handling in daily use.

About Hailo

Ever since its establishment in 1947, Hailo has demonstrated how to turn a good idea into a ground breaking product.

With numerous innovations, the manufacturer has constantly set new benchmarks in terms of quality and design – thereby turning “the Hailo red dot” into a strong brand.

Today, the company sells its products in 80 countries all over the world.

The company’s other business divisions are built-in technology systems for kitchens and industrial ladders and access systems.

berbel: The kitchen as the centre of every living situation

Exhaust air or recirculated air is a question of good planning

It starts with the floor plan. Anyone who builds, moves into or remodels an apartment or house has a project that requires a lot of decisions.

The kitchen is the multifunctional centre of every living situation, so planning it requires a good sense of detail.

The arrangement of the kitchen furniture should correspond to the daily work processes and the kitchen technology used should meet the cooking demands of the residents.

As the kitchen often opens up to the living area, the extractor hood in particular must be selected very precisely.

berbel extractors offer freedom in planning
berbel island hood Glassline. Puristic design and maximum performance. The shaft height can be individually put together depending on the kitchen situation. Photo: berbel

Clean air in the kitchen and in the adjoining living areas is essential for well-being.

Extractors don‘t just have to be powerful. They still need to suck in the cooking vapours effectively even when there is draft movement in the room.

Extractors have to transport vapours fully and clean the air of odours. The decision for an extractor with recirculation or exhaust air system depends on various factors.

The kitchen planner provides comprehensive advice. Whichever system you choose, berbel extractors offer technically convincing solutions for every requirement and a maximum of design diversity.

Whether wall-mounted, built-in, ceiling lift or island hood, they all work particularly efficiently and pleasantly quietly.

Powerful exhaust air system

With an exhaust air system, room air and vapours are sucked in, freed from grease and blown out through the exhaust air pipe.

This system is particularly recommended if you cook frequently or fry intensively. Vapours and the resulting moisture are reliably removed from the cooking area.

In combination with the automatically closing and thermally insulated berbel wall box, there is no drafts or heat loss in the room even when the extractor hood is not in operation.

The exhaust air system, however, requires structural requirements, since a nearby opening in the outer wall is ideally necessary.

Environmentally friendly recirculation air system

The recirculation air system is recommended as an alternative. * Extractor hoods equipped with berbel EcoSwitch can use this hybrid function to switch between recirculated air or exhaust air operation.

Here, too, the cooking vapours are sucked in, the fats separated, then cleaned through an odour filter and returned to the room.

Activated carbon is used inside the filter to bind cooking odours. The large volume of the filters ensures that the air slowly flows past the activated carbon, leaving enough time for the charcoal to adsorb the odours.

The charcoal only needs to be replaced every 2-3 years. You cannot miss the time for this, it is reliably displayed.

The filter cartridge can still be used, which is just as environmentally friendly as the refill pack for replacing the charcoal.

Especially in the cold winter months, the recirculation air system ensures that warm room air does not escape to the outside and is therefore ideal for passive and low-energy houses.

Even when operating a fireplace or stove, the window can remain closed on cold days to save valuable energy.

Another advantage is that no core hole or recess is required for an exhaust pipe. Which is always an argument for rental apartments and old buildings.

Maintenance free permalyt® recirculation filter

In addition to recirculation filters with activated carbon, berbel also offers a maintenance free permalyt® recirculation filter.

A special activated carbon filter is automatically and repeatedly regenerated by a thermal catalysis process.

In this process, the odour molecules are released from the activated carbon and broken down into odourless components in a catalyst.

With this one-time installation, the permanent function is ensured and without any replacement of activated carbon.

About berbel

Berbel Ablufttechnik GmbH is an internationally operating company based in Rheine (Germany), which has been developing, producing and selling range hood since 2001.

The headquarters of berbel in Rheine / Germany. Photo: berbel

In the kitchen industry, berbel has made a name for itself with its patented berbel principle. The berbel principle uses fat separation centrifugal force, so that no grease filter is needed.

As a result, this is highly efficient and, compared to conventional systems with grease filters, enables a permanently high level of grease separation.

Innovative technology, high quality materials, in house research, extensive quality controls and creative design meet the company’s own claim “Made in Germany”.

Hettich: Stability and luxuriously smooth running action for large wooden drawers

The new generation Actro 5D drawer runner

Generously sized drawers and narrow reveals are the mark of today’s high-end furniture lines.

This calls for high performing drawer runners which, even when heavily laden, reliably demonstrate strength and stamina: Hettich’s new Actro 5D runner for wooden drawers ensures perfectly aligned front panels with a look of absolute precision.

Large, handleless fronts coalesce into one homogeneous surface on which the uninterrupted wood decor is left to unfurl its full visual impact.

Top performance for large format furniture design
Hettich: On a perfect roll: thanks to flexible synchronisation adapters, Actro 5D also makes Push to open Silent work on asymmetrically shaped wooden drawers. Photo: Hettich

Additional convenient features also mean that Actro 5D significantly broadens creative flexibility for handleless furniture design: fitted with Push to open Silent, wooden drawers open with effortless ease in response to a mere tap on the front panel, leaving them to close again softly and silently.

Thanks to effective multisynchronisation beyond cabinet body width, the system can also be used for extra wide front panels across two wooden drawers: a light press at any point on the XXL front reliably triggers the opening function every time.

Hettich has further solutions for out of the ordinary fitting situations in the kitchen or bathroom: a flexible adapter can be used for asymmetrically shaped drawers and, wherever a U bend is in the way, a bypass adapter guarantees full functionality from push to open Silent for the wooden drawer.

Specifically for pull-out shelves, the Actro 5D also provides a retaining function that prevents the shelf from sliding back in unintentionally.

Front panel adjustment and handling easier than ever
Hettich: Effective multisynchronisation for extra wide front panels: Actro 5D can even be used with Push to open Silent for XXL drawer formats. Photo. Hettich

The latest Actro 5D product generation has been consistently optimised for fast, straightforward installation and front panel adjustment.

5 way adjustment is tool-less and completely intuitive: the front panel can be adjusted vertically, laterally and in depth simply by touch and without detaching the drawer.

The tilt and radial adjusters behind the drawer rear panel are easy to grip by undoing the drawer and pulling it forward a short distance on the runner.

Easily responding to customer wishes
Hettich: The sturdy, new generation of the Actro 5D for wooden drawers provides top performance for modern, large format furniture design. Photo: Hettich

With the Actro 5D generation, Hettich has made its successful platform system yet more accommodating: the Actro 5D’s cabinet body drilling pattern is identical to the one used by the new AvanTech YOU drawer platform.

This now means it’s only one small step to the many design options provided by the innovative drawer system that fits on the Actro YOU (up to 40 kg / 70 kg) and Quadro YOU (up to 30 kg) runners.

Particular advantage: these two runner systems can also be used under wooden drawers with identical dimensions whenever adjusting front panel height is all that’s necessary from a construction and design aspect.

This means the versatile platforms from Hettich make it easy for industry and fabricators to secure a strong position in different furniture segments while matching value for money to whatever their customers want.

With its sleek silhouette, clean design language and a color concept that exudes sophisticated timelessness, the Talis M54 is a refined expression of the latest design standards.

With its three iconic shapes and choice of finishes, the faucet was not created for a specific type of kitchen — it blends seamlessly into any individually designed and customized kitchen environment.

Its design exudes an understated industrial chic, while its stylish and functional metal elements make it perfect for home use.

No matter which model: an L-shaped, U-shaped or high arc spout; no matter which finish: chrome, stainless steel or exclusive matte black; no matter whether installed in an open-plan kitchen or a kitchenette — the Talis M54 transforms the sink into a kitchen centerpiece.

A Functional Highlight in the Kitchen

The elongated, streamlined silhouette of the Talis M54 is enhanced by its slender pin handle and flat cartridge seat. The uninterrupted line of the faucet gives it a clean and elegant look.

The minimalist hot and cold water markings, positioned under the handle, and the spray former, which is discreetly located in the spout end, are hardly visible and yet add to the faucet’s appeal.

Even details such as the sliding rings, sealing washers and the black hose of the pull-down spray have been designed to match the surface finish.

The ergonomic handle gives the user complete control over water settings. The clear laminar jet with a flow rate of 7 liters per minute fills even larger pots quickly.

The spray mode, on the other hand, is particularly resource efficient, as it cuts water consumption to only 3.5 liters per minute. Splashing has also been reduced, making the spray ideal for rinsing away light dirt.

The intuitive control button is extremely flat and unobtrusive; it is also very ergonomic thanks to its precise pressure point, making every step easier, be it washing vegetables or rinsing one’s hands.

While great advances have been made in the office, at the official workplace, in terms of ergonomics and comfortable, health-promoting workplace design in recent decades, the home is often furnished according to completely different criteria – design, convenience, and space saving are decisive factors here.

However, it is rarely part of the planning to work at the dining table for eight hours a day.

In addition to seating, lighting is an important factor – and GERA Leuchten, with its lights and light furniture, has products in its portfolio that bring two components together: a simple, minimalist design that can easily fit into many living environments, and a lighting that is flexible and In addition to a homely atmosphere, it also creates a pleasant working atmosphere.

GERA pendant lamp

The GERA pendant light 10×40 V2, for example, provides so much light with its double row of particularly powerful white LEDs that the light can be ideally used as workplace lighting.

After the work is done, the light intensity can be dimmed – and a completely different atmosphere is created. The transition between work and leisure can be designed using light control, which is particularly important with open floor plans, where rooms are used several times.

And the GERA pendant lamp, which of course also looks good in the office, is also a design highlight: its filigree current-carrying suspension gives the light source formal calm and the ease of maximum reduction.

The product is also available in the dimensions 20×10 in different surface variants.

GERA wall lamp

If you work on a standing desk or highboard, the swiveling wall lamp from GERA is a suitable product for lighting.

In the productive phase, the wall lamp can illuminate the workplace directly – and then be swiveled onto the wall or ceiling and thus take on the function of ambient lighting.

In addition, GERA Leuchten offers other products for installation on the wall, which in addition to the light function also provide power connections for tablets or other devices and at the same time represent a stable shelf.

Take a close look at the lighting situation at home

But even beyond these workplace illuminations, it is now a good time to take a close look at the lighting situation at home. Many still see light as less a design element than a functional element.

Well-thought-out lighting design is an important part of interior design: light gives rooms structure and atmosphere, which, unlike colors and furniture, can be changed flexibly.

Light contributes significantly to well-being and influences the mood. These options for interior design become particularly clear with light furniture such as the light shelf.

The combination of light and furniture finds a unique harmony here: The GERA lighting system 6 closes the gaps between traditional, central room lighting and modern, pointed furniture lighting planning.

Whether pendant lamp, wall lamp or light shelf – the products from GERA lights create rooms, create atmosphere and can now also be experienced online.

About GERA Leuchten

On the basis of its comprehensive lighting design, furniture construction and electrical engineering expertise, the GERA Leuchten company, which is based in Thuringia in Germany, develops furniture concepts that are unique and a market first in this combination with the respective lighting
technology.

With its characteristic lighting furniture, the company is exploring a totally innovative product category that always has a dual interior design and functional purpose through the combination of lighting with light projection.

The design of the individual products is the result of the dimensional system of a generic product family.

Formal severity, design simplicity, authenticity and logic are brought together to create products with a style that is characterised by timeless, functional designs.

raumplus: Sliding doors and partition walls for discretion or prevention of infection

The necessary distance

For a long time, undivided areas were the epitome of generosity and openness – in both the private and the commercial sector. But preferences and general conditions are changing: those who can be reached all day thanks to digitalisation need a protected retreat.

And in public spaces, arguments such as discretion or prevention of infection create a need for action in terms of separate rooms. With sliding door and partition wall systems from raumplus, these can be flexibly furnished anywhere. And elegantly provide the necessary distance.

Keep your distance, please

»Keep your distance, please«, this motto has long been valid in many areas of public life: in banks, notary‘s offices or law firms, agencies or medical practices, confidential discussions require spatial discretion, in the health care sector it is also important to prevent infection.

This is an aspect that has become highly topical worldwide. But even in the private sphere, the temporary separation of home office, kitchen, media and rest area, for example, ensures a cleverly structured coexistence.

Partitioning systems

This is made possible by raumplus with its versatile mobile partitioning systems.

The Bremen-based family business is the international epitome of sliding doors, partition walls and interior systems in a variety of technical and visual variants – custom-made and Made in Germany.

The room dividers

They divide open-plan offices into personal workplaces, doctors‘ and physiotherapists‘ practices into tailor-made treatment and therapy rooms, or equip banks and law firms with visually and acoustically separated consultation rooms.

In some fields of application in the commercial sector, but especially in private households, it is sufficient to make this division only temporarily. In this case, sliding doors can be used to create temporary rooms in no time at all, which can then be reopened for the big picture.

The mobile room dividers hold cooking fumes, for example, smells and noises from the adjoining living room, separate the bedroom from the bathroom or the home office from the leisure area.

The design options for room separation are just as varied as their possible applications: Door panels in frosted or clear glass, various wood decors or lacquered surfaces in all shades of the RAL scale are framed by silver-coloured, bronzed or powder-coated aluminum frames and can be additionally equipped with dividing rails, handles etc. in a range of mix & match materials.

Hettich: Customisation is the new standard

The megatrend “customisation”

Increasingly, the “customisation” megatrend is placing an ever greater focus on the individual user with their very own personal preferences. How can these expectations be met in furniture design too?

This is where Hettich wants to give the industry fresh ideas and is presenting creative product solutions that cover all aspects of what furniture buyers want: feel style, enjoy comfort, win storage.

Hettich is one of the world’s leading fittings specialists. The manufacturer offers a broad range of solutions for customising furniture design and even implementing entire spatial concepts.

Using its creative design ideas, for example, Hettich will be demonstrating at Eurobois how parts of the home can be elegantly combined while providing practical functionality, or how to enjoy a wardrobe with panorama effect.

AvanTech YOU platform: drawers just as you please
Quickly transformed: Hettich presents its latest platform for drawers in the form of AvanTech YOU. Simply clipping into place, designer profiles in wood, stainless steel, aluminium or chrome look add individualised highlights to the top of the drawer side profile. Photo: Hettich

With its new AvanTech YOU drawer system based on the tried and proven platform concept, Hettich is now taking individually tailored customer furniture design to the next higher level.

As a pioneer, the company presented the world’s first “platform” solution for drawer systems, back in 1996. The latest AvanTech YOU platform now offers even more options for customising any drawer in terms of colour, shape and material.

AvanTech YOU cuts an impressive figure with exceptionally slimline, purist design that manages without visible screw heads or cover caps. The slimline drawer side profile measures only 13 mm.

Megatrend customisation: delivering creative design ideas, Hettich will be showing how parts of the home can be elegantly combined and provide practical functionality. Photo: Hettich

What is remarkable is the ease with which the new platform can be adapted to suit buyers’ requirements: the drawer, which can be used on two different runner systems with the same cabinet body hole pattern, provides a flexible and cost effective basis for addressing different market segments and fields of application.

Because all components within the platform can be combined with each other. At the assembly stage, there is neither any need to rout drawer bases and install catches, nor is it necessary to use rear panel corner connectors for wooden rear panels.

This saves time and money. As such, it offers the manufacturer a broad product lineup from lean, flexible production at low costs in manufacturing and stock keeping.

With AvanTech YOU, drawers can be configured in three colours and five heights with steel, aluminium or wooden rear panels.

Customised in any chosen way: AvanTech YOU DesignCapes in aluminium, either anodised or in stainless steel look, create a feel of quality. Photo: Hettich

Even within the standard product range, designer profiles in stainless steel, chrome and aluminium look or walnut and oak look as well as “DesignCapes” in anodised aluminium and stainless steel look or also the AvanTech YOU Inlay drawer side profile can all be used to create a wide variety of eye catchers.

Glass, wood, stone or any chosen materials can be used as a drawer side profile inlay.

In this way, the innovative AvanTech YOU platform opens up huge potential for kitchen and furniture manufacturers to stand apart from the competition: with customised furniture design in different price segments and a targeted response to customer demands.

And last but not least, the system comes with an element of surprise in large sized wardrobes with its fascinating panorama opening effect.

WingLine L’s innovative “Push / Pull to move” opening mechanism reliably ensures ease of use: with a mere movement of the hand, WingLine L opens a complete door set almost by itself.

This means that even large wardrobes and cabinets can be assembled on site by just one fitter. Hettich’s comprehensive product range comes full of inspiration for customising furniture design with clever functions.

Kesseböhmer: SpaceFlexx has been chosen as the kitchen innovation of 2020

“Best of the best” in kitchen equipment

The “SpaceFlexx” developed by Kesseböhmer together with users scored twice in the “Kitchen Innovation of the Year 2020” audience award.

Both the jury of experts and consumers chose the clever solution against the mess of storage cans to be the “Kitchen Innovation of the Year 2020” and, as the best product in the kitchen equipment category, also helped it achieve the golden “Best of the Best” seal.

Organization system for the storage jars

“SpaceFlexx” sees itself as the first organization system that really masters the mess of storage cans.

Kesseböhmer: “SpaceFlexx” is the new way to store storage jars of different sizes and shapes in a space-saving and clear manner in one pull-out (left). Photo: Kesseböhmer

The insert for the pull-out consists of a frame construction and flexible, powerful “nesttex”.

Not only can storage jars of different sizes and shapes and the matching lids be stored in a space-saving and clear manner without time-consuming sorting.

Long searches, wobbling and tipping over are a thing of the past.

“Product features such as quality, functionality and attractive design play an important role for consumers when making a purchase decision. Recommendations from other consumers are becoming increasingly important.

The “Kitchen Innovation of the Year” award, which has been presented for the fourteenth time, is a direct buy recommendation from consumers for consumers, ”explains the LifeCare initiative, which awards the award.

“SpaceFlexx” cleans up the drawer
Kesseböhmer: The chaos in the pull-out for storage jars has an end – thanks to “SpaceFlexx”. Photo: Kesseböhmer

“SpaceFlexx” makes optimal use of the storage space. The order principle is as simple as it is ingenious: A frame made of chrome-plated metal struts and plastic components connects five horizontal “nesttex” divisions that can be moved on the struts.

Regardless of its shape and size, the storage items can simply be inserted in between and intuitively sorted or nested. Thanks to its elasticity, “nesttex” adapts to any can geometry and pull-out.

Kesseböhmer: with “SpaceFlexx” the stowage – regardless of its shape and size – can simply be stuck between the flexible divisions and intuitively sorted or nested. Photo: Kesseböhmer

So everything finds its place between the flexible straps – without rattling and slipping. This creates – not least thanks to transparent zones in the fabric – overview and easy accessibility.

“SpaceFlexx” fits as a retrofittable, easy and tool-free assembly kit in all pull-outs from 60 cm front width. As a high quality and highly technical material, “nesttex” promises high performance and a long service life. It can be cleaned in no time and is even suitable for the washing machine.

Chosen by experts, valued by consumers

This year, GRASS has won an award in the “Product Design” category for its new, completely innovative movement mechanism Kinvaro T-Slim. Photo: Grass

The international jury awards its seal of quality approval only to products of outstanding design quality; accordingly, the competition for this award is fierce. Last year alone, around 6,500 products were submitted for consideration.

From this huge number of submissions, Kinvaro T-Slim was one of the products chosen as outstanding. GRASS has now won one of these coveted design awards for the fifth time.

Kinvaro T-Slim is the thinnest, most efficient flap lift system ever developed by GRASS.

It combines purist looks with outstanding durability and the art of perfect movement in a unique way.

The flap lift mechanism blends into the furniture almost invisibly, thereby unlocking completely new possibilities for overhead wall cabinets. It offers furniture designers and manufacturers maximum flexibility.

Besides the aesthetic bonus, the reduction in size offers another advantage: the flap lift mechanism takes up very little room, which means that the available storage space can be used to its full potential.

“We are extremely delighted about winning yet another Red Dot Award,” says GRASS product manager Harald Küper. “The award confirms the feedback we have had from our customers: that there is currently no other product like Kinvaro T-Slim to be had on the market, and that its advantages totally meet the zeitgeist.”

berbel: Living in a limited space

The little kitchen

Mini-apartments and tiny houses are the topics that are discussed in the media today. A social phenomenon that is the result of demographic facts.

The number of single households is increasing steadily and many couples and young families limit themselves to smaller living quarters with high real estate and rental prices in the city centers.

Urban Living is also characterized by professional nomads who work in a city during the week and are with their families at the weekend.

Built-in hoods from berbel: the solution for small kitchens
berbel built-in hood Firstline Unseen is a barely visible part of the wall unit. The berbel filter system inside is efficient and space-saving. Widths 60 I 90 cm. Photo: berbel

This has an impact on the construction and furnishing sectors. Mini-apartments become micro-apartments, primarily in student cities. Small prefabricated houses are designed so that they can be placed on roofs of apartment blocks.

As a result, optimized installation equipment and detailed planning of the functional rooms is required. The smaller the kitchen, the more carefully it has to be thought out so that it still looks spacious and light.

The limited space requires an organized and ergonomic use of the kitchen furniture. Kitchen technology has to meet these requirements and also have to achieve the best performance with a compact size.

Four models for clean air and maximum flexibility
The control panel of the berbel Glassline built-in hood is visible when you touch the glass cover. The ideal hood for small eat-in kitchens. Widths 60 I 90 cm. Photo: berbel

With the product family of built-in hoods, berbel offers four models that ensure clean air with optimal odor control.

The Firstline, Firstline Touch, Firstline Unseen and Glassline require little space, are optically discreet and, thanks to the berbel principle, work highly efficiently.

The patented berbel technology frees the kitchen quietly, reliably and permanently from fumes and unpleasant smells.

This happens only with the power of the centrifuge. The vapor plumes, which consist of air, water and fat, are drawn through a narrow and effective gap into the interior of the extractor hood.

The power gets a partner at the hood entrance: speed. Inside the hood, everything is deflected in a double arc. This creates centrifugal force, better known as centrifugal force, as you know it from the salad spinner.

Fats and oils are separated almost silently according to the same principle and the air can move on unhindered. The result: permanent, consistently high fat separation without performance-reducing fat filter technology.

Invisible helpers
The functional built-in hood berbel Firstline integrates discreetly into the kitchen design. Widths 60 I 80 I 90 cm. Photo: berbel

The features of the powerful and quiet built-in hood models from berbel leave room for individual kitchen design. If you like it offensive, the Glassline or Firstline Touch built-in hood is the right choice.

The Firstline built-in hood also offers strong performance in the smallest of spaces. And the Firstline Unseen disappears almost invisibly into flat wall units. The built-in hoods from berbel show their strengths particularly in compact kitchens.

Depending on the model, you can choose between recirculation and exhaust air modes. With berbel EcoSwitch you even benefit from the advantages of both operating modes and can choose one depending on the weather or cooking situation.

In winter, the energy-saving recirculation mode is recommended. Here, the air is freed of odors by the hybrid filter and returned to the room.

The berbel Firstline Touch built-in hood with elegant sensor touch control panel. Flexibility in three dimensions with simple installation. Widths 60 I 80 I 90 cm. Photo: berbel

This keeps the warm air inside and valuable energy is not wasted. This is an energy-saving and at the same time efficient air cleaning, especially in low-energy houses.

As an alternative to the conventional circulating air filter, berbel has developed a closed filter system as a cabinet installation. This leads the fumes from the hood directly out of the furniture and the interior of the cabinet does not come into contact with moist air.

Exhaust air operation comes into play when something burns or if there is a lot of moisture. At the push of a button, the smoke or moisture generated is banished from the kitchen outside.

berbel built-in hoods offer maximum flexibility. Thanks to their flat shape, they fit into the wall unit like a missing piece of the puzzle.

Because of the space-saving installation method, there is even room for a spice rack. The LED lighting ensures pleasant light on the hob.

GERA Leuchten: The different functional zones of an apartment merge

GERA lights: new products for 2020

The world is changing and with it the way people design their living space.

One of the most obvious developments is the increase in open floor plans.

The different functional zones of an apartment merge. Kitchen, living and dining room become one.

This opening also changes the kitchen architecture: wall units are disappearing, storage space, cooking and sink areas are increasingly being planned as islands.

Dump fans extracting downwards detach the extractor hood.

These changes in living space design also bring with them new requirements and possibilities for lighting: island experiences.

The island experience
GERA Leuchten: The 2P3 lighting system is also multifunctional. Photo: GERA Leuchten

If the hung furniture is painted during planning, the storage space becomes scarcer and with the wall cupboards space for lighting is lost at the same time.

Nevertheless, space is created that can be used differently. In addition, the different areas in open floor plans require specific lighting situations.

While good lighting is required in the kitchen, lighting that can serve the relaxation factor is usually desired in the living area.

Light furniture
GERA Leuchten combine several functions with the light bridge: It is a design element, a light source and offers space for placing everyday items. Photo: GERA Leuchten

GERA Leuchten is responding to these demands with its new products: “Light furniture is a central part of our portfolio,” says designer Thomas Ritt, who designs the products for GERA Leuchten.

“Light and functionality merge into one unit, with which users can flexibly design rooms. The simple and timeless design always withdraws and forms the stage for the objects placed on or in it. ”

With the new light bridge, the light box and the 2P3 lighting system, GERA Leuchten offers three planning options for island environments that respond to the zeitgeist and at the same time bring the timeless virtues of GERA lights: a minimalist design, a clear architectural structure and high flexibility.

Light bridge: for new kitchen architectures
GERA Leuchten: The success of the 2P3 lighting system lies in its variability. Photo: GERA Leuchten

Kitchen islands are an integral part of modern kitchen architecture.

They are as much a room divider as a connecting element between kitchen and living.

Extractor hoods are increasingly being replaced by trough fans on these islands.

If, at the same time, wall units are dispensed with in order to adapt the kitchen to the living space, there is a lack of storage space.

At the same time, new, unused space is created.

GERA Leuchten combines several functions with the light bridge: It is a design element, a light source and offers space for placing everyday items.

The light bridge is a further development of lighting systems 6 and was first presented as a prototype at interzum 2019.

It is offered standing on the kitchen island or suspended from the ceiling.

The shelf consists of a polished glass plate through which the light is refracted up and down.

Cooking utensils can be stored on the LichtBank, and cooking aids such as whisks, sieves, soup ladles or wooden spoons can also be hung below the shelf.

“With the light bridge, we have developed a serving piece of furniture that combines multifunctionality with design,” says Thomas Ritt.

Light box: minimalism with maximum effect
GERA Leuchten: The light bridge is based on light system 6. Photo: GERA Leuchten

The light box is a piece of light furniture that connects the kitchen and living room.

It is based on the minimalist structure of lighting system 4: a rectangular frame with LED lights integrated in the black aluminum profiles at the front and rear.

Thanks to the sawn aluminum profiles, which are connected to each other via corner profiles, the system is very light and can have its effect anywhere in the home.

“We design our products so that they can be used individually and are not restricted to a specific functional area,” says Thomas Ritt.

The light box also shows this in another property: a glass shelf is embedded in the profiles.

This serves as a footprint and enables the light box to be used to stage certain objects.

On the one hand, the light illuminates the back wall, very brightly and indirectly. At the same time, the precious items in the light box are illuminated from the front.

Whether vases, sculptures or a bouquet of flowers – every object is staged.

What is to be staged is up to the user – in addition to its function as light furniture, the light box is a projection surface that the user plays on.

The light box is offered hanging on the wall – and can thus be installed above kitchen units, where it provides pleasant, very bright and at the same time indirect work light.

The light box is available in the dimensions 600 x 350 x 350 and 900 x 350 x 350 mm.

GERA lighting system 2P3: light with footprint
GERA Leuchten lighting systems 2P3, hallway. Photo: GERA Leuchten

The 2P3 lighting system is also multifunctional. The success of the 2P3 lighting system lies in its variability.

The horizontal profile is a double element. It is used as a base or wall lamp; when used as a wall lamp, the top offers space for utensils in the bathroom and kitchen.

The GERA lighting system 2P3 is available in individual lengths and three colors, can be equipped with sockets and additional accessories for hanging.

It is thus possible to install the individually suitable configuration at each installation location with the systems – like a modular system.

The filigree, functional and functional appearance gives the luminaires a high level of interior design relevance.

What light does: create an island

Morning mood on the North Sea islands, dusk on the Mediterranean Sea off Sicily – the light on islands has a special magic.

And it makes people feel good. Transferring this feel-good element to living is a task that GERA Leuchten is committed to.

The influence of light on human well-being has long been known.

Improper lighting can make you sick, while well-designed lighting can brighten your mood.

“Biological light” is the key word. This form of lighting is preferably adapted to the neuronal processes in the human brain.

It changes individually and also over the course of a day. It is warm and indirect, but provides enough light where it is needed.

With LED technology and white and color adaptation, the lights and light furniture from GERA lights can be used to implement a variety of smart lighting designs – and create islands.

Because uniformly illuminated rooms are perceived as monotonous. For a light architecture to feel good, it is therefore advisable to create islands of light.

News from the company: the light forum

In autumn 2019, GERA Leuchten created a new contact point for everyone interested in modern lighting design at its headquarters in St. Gangloff.

The 1,200 square meter light forum shows the effect that luminaires and light furniture in a minimalist design can have on the room architecture.

In addition to the exhibition areas, the new building houses sales, the warehouse for the online shop, conference and training rooms as well as an integrated kitchen and an outdoor grill for events – and thus also fulfills its intended function as a meeting place.

“The lighting forum is not just about showing products,” says Hening Pölitz, owner and managing director of GERA Leuchten.

“We want to show who we are and what we stand for – we want to give the GERA Leuchten brand a home.

We know from experience that new partners would like to get to know the companies with which they would like to work in the future. The new lighting forum provides the perfect basis for this. ”

Formal severity, design simplicity, authenticity and logic are brought together to create products with a style that is characterised by timeless, functional designs.

hansgrohe: Kitchen Innovation of the Year 2020

Aquno Select M81 wins Gold

The hansgrohe Aquno Select M81 kitchen faucet brought home gold in the KitchenInnovation of the Year® 2020.

For the 14th time, the independent LifeCare initiative presented the internationally recognized awards for products that are especially consumer friendly.

In all, 28 products were honored as KitchenInnovation of the Year® 2020, with ten products securing the top honor in their category, namely the Golden Award – Best of the Best, including the hansgrohe Aquno Select M81 kitchen faucet.

Wellness for Fruit and Vegetables

hansgrohe presents the future of smart workflow in the kitchen – for aspiring chefs and food lovers for whom cooking is more than just preparing food.

With its new Aquno Select M81 kitchen faucet, hansgrohe presents a new integrated system which comprises unconventional product design paired with innovative spray technology and customized accessories.

The Aquno integrated system — named after “aqua” and “unit”— makes it possible to experience a totally new kind of interaction with water in the kitchen; and thanks to its smart integrated concept, it features spray modes and functions suitable for any task at hand.

hansgrohe aquno select M81 kitchen mixer tap: the vegetable shower is activated. Photo: hansgrohe / Hansgrohe SE

For the first time ever, the laminar and shower spray modes in the pull-down spray are complemented by a third, flat and particularly gentle spray mode, which flows from the integrated base unit.

The SatinFlow spray mode consists of many individual jets that form a soft and yet dense laminar flow.

The spray is splash-free and ensures that water flows evenly over food, hands and objects.

Delicate produce such as fruit, vegetables and salad greens love this faucet, as do demanding kitchen enthusiasts.

All-in-One for Efficient Workflow at the Sink

The Aquno Select M81 kitchen faucet impresses with its particularly flat and gentle SatinFlow spray mode, an absolute novelty in the kitchen industry.

The base unit that makes up the lower part of the faucet functions as a “shower” for fruit and vegetables: Its spout is long and narrow, and produces a wide flow of water.

hansgrohe Aquno makes it possible to experience a future-oriented interaction with water in the kitchen and, thanks to the clever overall concept, offers the appropriate spray types and functions depending on the area of application. Photo: hansgrohe / Hansgrohe SE

Thanks to a novel arrangement and number of spray nozzles, it also ensures a noticeably softer distribution of droplets.

This means that foods can be washed thoroughly and much more gently.

With the multifunctional sieve, which is included in the set and designed to fit perfectly under the wide spray, the faucet system ensures an easy and efficient workflow at the sink.

hansgrohe Aquno: pots can be filled quickly and constantly with the laminar jet. Photo: hansgrohe / Hansgrohe SE

Even larger objects, such as baking sheets, can be washed with the wide spout, as it completely covers them with water; and SatinFlow is very resource-saving as water consumption is only four liters per minute.

The laminar jet of the pull-down spray has a flow rate of seven liters per minute, making it possible to fill pots more quickly and rinse hands fast without wasting water; and due to its drop shape, the spray mode is ideal for rinsing more robust foods and washing dishes between uses.

hansgrohe Aquno: the “shower” for fruit and vegetables. Photo: hansgrohe / Hansgrohe SE

The pull-down spray’s operating range of up to 76 centimeters also provides freedom of movement, enabling the faucet to be used away from the sink.

This makes it easy, for instance, to fill water into a coffee machine positioned farther away.

Multitasking with Water
At hansgrohe Aquno, laminar and shower jets on the pull-out shower are supplemented by a third, flat and particularly gentle jet that originates from the integrated body. Photo: hansgrohe / Hansgrohe SE

The faucet’s ease of operation is also impressive due to its intelligent design and easy-to-clean surfaces.

The single lever handle on the right of the faucet base and the Select button on the left give users convenient and intuitive control of all of the M81’s features.

The new Aquno Select M81 kitchen tap from hansgrohe is a new overall system consisting of an unconventional product design paired with innovative jet technology. Photo: hansgrohe / Hansgrohe SE

Its futuristic and extravagant design, and choice of basic shapes make Aquno Select M81 a real eye-catcher that blends into any individual and sophisticated kitchen environment.

One variant is linear with an L-shaped spout. The angled spout pipe highlights the precise linear design of the overall product and features a pull-down function with a laminar jet.

Another variant of the M81 features a striking high-arc spout which accentuates the monolithic synergy of rectangular and circular shapes.

The pull-down spray head has adjustable jet types, enabling flexible use of water.

Vauth-Sagel: Focus on maximum flexibility and high design standards

New: Premea in a popular trendy colour

Personalisation is a hot topic – not least also in the furnishing industry.

The demand for pieces of furniture that can be customised according to the respective needs and requirements is as high as never before.

However, the functional features and aesthetics also have to be spot on. Vauth-Sagel takes precisely all of these aspects on board with its range of cabinet interior storage shelves and baskets.

Vauth Sagel: CORNERSTONE Swing Premea in the color Lava Grey. Photo: VAUTH-SAGEL

The specialist for storage solutions will now also demonstrate this at the kbb Birmingham – for example with the popular design line Premea in a new shade called Lava Grey.

Customisable shelf and basket versions

All show and no substance? – Not with Vauth-Sagel’s extensive range of interior storage shelves and baskets.

Hardly any other system component manufacturer offers as much flexibility when it comes to equipping cabinet interiors – whilst at the same time making sure that the outside design continues on the inside and intentionally setting accents in the interior of a piece of furniture.

Maximum choice thanks to modular system

Vauth-Sagel’s shelf and basket design ranges – Classic, Saphir, Premea, Planero and Artline – are modular systems.

The unique advantage this offers: all guide rails and frames can be combined with various interior shelf and basket versions from the company’s own accessory line.

Vauth Sagel: SUB Side Premea in the color Lava Grey. Photo: VAUTH-SAGEL

This platform strategy makes Vauth-Sagel’s storage systems attractive to the industry, retailers, joiners and cabinet makers.

Whilst Classic and Saphir feature a metal rail and wire bases, Premea, Artline ad Planero offer high-quality wooden bases.

Vauth Sagel: TAL Larder Premea in the color Lava Grey. Photo: VAUTH-SAGEL

All shelves and baskets come with extremely well-welded joints and surfaces “made in Germany”.

They are also available in a range of colours and can be combined with the proven storage systems VS SUB, VS COR, VS TAL and VS TOP to create perfect storage.

Premea: the popular shelf and basket version now also available in “Lava Grey”

The design version Premea impresses with a full-length wooden base that is impervious to moisture and held in a metal frame.

As on the Classic and Saphir versions, the stored goods are secured by a straight metal rail.

Just in time for the kbb Birmingham, which was running in March 2020, Premea was presented in a new design: this wooden base version is now also available in modern Lava Grey, just like the design version Planero.

About VAUTH-SAGEL:

Vauth-Sagel has stood for contemporary and innovative storage space solutions for over 55 years.

The owner-managed family business develops, manufactures and sells system components for the kitchen and furniture industry that are aimed at making people’s lives more comfortable.

SALICE: The Universal Hinge

A solution to most applications

The Salice universal hinge has been developed to provide a solution to most applications in the field of furniture doors.

The hinge can be used with a very wide range of door materials and thicknesses.

In addition to the classic cup for wooden doors, there is a plate-fixed version that is bonded to glass doors or mirrors.

And a third version with a screw-fixed plate for doors made of the special and thinner materials that are becoming increasingly popular, such as metal, ceramics, cements, quartz composites, HPL, HDF and MDF.

Salice universal hinge Series B, here with an 8 mm thick door. Photo: SALICE

These plates are equipped with screws that have been developed specifically to obtain the highest holding strength in materials with a minimum thickness of 8 mm.

The customer can however use any other fixing system considered suitable for the purpose; in fact, the slots on the plate enable the use of any alternative fixing method.

All overlays with only one hinge

By simply changing the fixing position of the cup or the plate on the door, it is possible, with a single hinge and a single mounting plate, to provide a solution to a number of special applications and overlays, which include inset doors.

Salice Universal Hinge Series B, here with a glass door. Photo: SALICE

In this way the number of components required for the assembly of a range of different cabinets is considerably reduced.

The seven pivot movement, a key technical feature of these hinges, also provides a solution to a number of special applications, which include half-inset doors and doors with moulded or mitred edges.

Different options to open and close

There are also different options for the ways to open and close the doors.

In addition to the traditional sprung hinge, there is the soft closing version with integrated silicone-oil dampers, which delivers a soft and gradual closing action for doors of all sizes in any application.

Salice universal hinge Series B, here with a door made of cement. Photo: SALICE

It is also interesting to note that, with a very simple operation, it is possible to convert a sprung hinge into hinge with integrated soft-close and vice versa.

This hinge is also available with the Push self-opening system for handle-less doors.

A slight pressure at any point is sufficient for the door to self-open. A wide selection of magnetic release devices completes the range.

Aesthetic considerations are not neglected – the hinges can be supplied in nickel-plated or titanium finish with a complete range of hinge arm and flange cover caps which can be personalised on request.

The universal hinge is compatible with all Salice mounting plates, is fully adjustable in three directions and guarantees the possibility of a precise, immediate and calibrated adjustment.

About SALICE

Salice holds a well-established position worldwide by virtue of its natural talent for innovation, careful attention to quality, efficiency of customer service, and reliability earned during more than 80 years of experience.

Convince with new services and products
Häfele: wardrobe equipment system DressCode. Picture: Häfele

Häfele completes its support along the entire woodworking value chain.

Specialist advisors, the Häfele Academy and online chat are used to impart knowledge and a fruitful exchange of ideas between hardware specialists and creative partners from the carpentry trade.

The combination of innovative software, planning tools and configurators for home furnishings and furniture, networked with Topco services made to measure from one piece upwards, creates real added value for all Häfele partners.

With the proverbially good Häfele logistics as the crowning conclusion, carpenters also increase their productivity – an important prerequisite for successful business in an environment in which competition is constantly growing.

Furniture planning with the DressCode configurator
With the new configurator for the Dresscode wardrobe equipment program from Häfele, furniture manufacturers can plan together with the customer and view the results in real environments with the intelligent augmented reality app. Picture: Häfele

With a new generation of product configurators, furniture manufacturers can put together the right configuration for cupboards with the DressCode cupboard equipment program in a very convenient, simple and fast way and look at them in real environments with the intelligent augmented reality app.

Almost all cupboards can be equipped in a uniform design. DressCode can be built into the cabinet or set up as a free-standing frame system. The ingenious storage system is also perfect for walk-in closets.

It impresses with its convincing design language and top functionality. Advantage for the carpenter: All elements can be assembled and disassembled without tools.

Additional business with Rosso Akustik from Nimbus

After the merger with Nimbus at the beginning of 2019, the focus of the trade fair is also on the acoustic products from Rosso that are of interest to the skilled trades.

Here Häfele shows how the carpenter can generate additional business through the creative use of acoustic elements. There is solid know-how for planning and implementation at the Häfele booth.

Networking: Loox5 and integrative light from Nimbus

Häfele shows the essence of four generations of LED light in another area of the exhibition stand.

Supply, distribute, network and illuminate, all of these belong together and succeed with the 5th generation of Loox in no time at all.

New this time are Häfele linear lights and a combination of Loox lighting with integrative light from Nimbus.

The quantum leap: Free space fold-up fitting

Häfele is consistently thinking ahead with the trend topic of flap fittings with groundbreaking technical developments and is showing the Red Dot and Interzum Award winner of the past year and the German Design Award winner 2020 at Holz-Handwerk with the Free space flap fitting.

The fitting provides even more space in the body and marks a quantum leap in terms of weight and minimalism. Free space is the smartest combination of less and more.

With less volume, the fitting creates more storage space in the furniture and more performance on the flap.

Thanks to a clear installation depth of only 63 mm, it gives new scope for modern furniture design, even in narrow cabinets.

Further innovations to see at the Häfele booth
Versatile

It is an innovative furniture system from Häfele that grows with demand, application, age and trends and can be easily adapted to individual customer requirements.

It also cuts a fine figure in the kitchen and provides additional, perfectly organized storage space.

Alusplash splash protection and wall panels

They are now also available from Häfele. A separate range of trendy, environmentally friendly, aluminum-based interior wall panels is shown, primarily for kitchens, in different colors and with various high-gloss and matt surfaces – a premiere at Häfele.

Matrix Pro Medical

This is the name of an innovative complete drawer that shows its advantages as a space miracle in the body, not only in the medical environment.

For special requirements, e.g. in dental surgeries, there are suitable instrument inserts.

Frame Fix frame connector

Pinch instead of foam! A real innovation, banishes the PU foam used to install door frames from the apartments.

Frame Fix fastens door frames at any time with a clamping mechanism. You must have seen that.

Furniture handles

The furniture handles of the Häfele collection H19 are very trendy. This is also confirmed by the presentation of the Red Dot Design Award for the innovative design handle with a textile surface.

A great confirmation for the fourth furniture handle collection from the hardware technology specialist, which is increasingly developing into an international trendsetter for furniture handles.

The latest trend colors are: brushed brass, matt black and anthracite. Black handles in vintage style, such as used look, tinned antique or nickel-plated black brushed, are also very popular.

Wire products

Premiere at the Holz-Handwerk. Häfele presents its range of wire products for the kitchen, thus completing its own kitchen fittings.

The range convinces with a uniform Häfele design and good quality at an attractive price.

The color of the Häfele wire goods is matched to the Häfele frame color.

AxiloTM

The clever base adjustment system from Häfele is also part of the party and has an ingenious success story to tell.

This time AxiloTM comes to the fair with new, interesting accessories, e.g. with adapters for different floor coverings and special adapters for sound insulation in the AxiloTM foot.

Schwinn: Lights up handles

Moving furniture parts under power

At ZOW 2020 in Bad Salzuflen, Schwinn fittings GmbH, Ober-Ramstadt, showed a way to illuminate handles on moving furniture parts.

With the aim of reducing the complexity of assembly, the company has registered two utility models: The development of the LED went hand in hand with that of a swivel arm to conduct electricity in pull-outs and drawers.

The “Schwinn Light System” expands the repertoire to individually design furniture fronts.

The latest light guide technology behind the “Schwinn Light System” is invisible in off mode. Photo: Schwinn

The innovation is based on the vision of enriching handles with a new dimension and giving rooms an atmosphere.

Up to now, decorative fittings only had an effect on their shape, material and surface, you can now also use your light to influence the overall room design.

The product is based on the latest light guide technology, which is invisible in off mode.

The length-independent LED strips are glued to the profiles at the factory, but can also be retrofitted.

The LED strips are independent of length and are either glued to the profiles at the factory or retrofitted. Photo: Schwinn

In another system, the lighting is controlled by light-guiding knurled screws.

The supply line, a flexible ribbon cable, can be hidden and glued without damage around the front edges or run over cable bridges from revolving doors.

A swivel arm for a pull-out length of at least 55 cm ensures reliable power supply in moving furniture parts such as pull-outs and drawers. It disappears between the cabinet and pull-out rear panels and does not interfere with the opening and closing movements.

In addition to stripes, the lighting in the “Schwinn Light System” can also be controlled using light-guiding knurled screws. Photo: Schwinn

The light can be controlled classically using hand and foot switches, but also by remote control or proximity sensor and even digitally using a smartphone or by voice.

The LEDs can not only be switched on and off, but also dimmed in their intensity and provided with effects, and can take on various light colors from warm and cold white (CCT) to RGB / RGBW. When using multiple controllers, the illuminated handles fit intelligently into holistic smart home solutions.

Kesseböhmer: At imm cologne 2020, individuality and modularity reach a new level

tRACK – the new level: the limits are in your head

Pyramid corner solution, hanging canopy or wall-filling library. Freestanding and expansive as a room divider, deep and down-to-earth as a sideboard or upholstered as a bench.

For living room or bedroom, bathroom or hallway, loft or office, small or large kitchens. As changeable as a gecko, this piece of furniture cannot be fixed on anything.

Nevertheless, “tRACK” is distinctive and absolutely binding in its architecture. At imm cologne 2020, individuality and modularity reach a new level.

Kesseböhmer tRACK bench. Photo: Volume K by Kesseböhmer

The product shows its almost inexhaustible potential of creative varieties.

Not opulently decorated, but filigree and reduced in color, it concentrates on defining spaces and putting their unmistakable seal on them.

Kesseböhmer tRACK window. Photo: Volume K by Kesseböhmer

The presentation is very pointedly aimed at interior designers and high-quality fitters.

Configure it individually online

You will experience two premieres at the imm.

The heart of the “Volume K” sales channel, created especially for “tRACK” and responsible for Jörg Schäfer, is the new online configurator at www.t-rack.news.

Kesseböhmer tRACK stairs. Photo: Volume K by Kesseböhmer

The play with grid dimensions and architectural spaces, with materials and colors as well as smart features knows no limits here.

It is expanded in a first collection of drawer modules, double door and gallery elements in four modern color worlds, which as floating corps fit into the grid in a diverse and flexible way.

Visible metal, clear structures and a deep understanding of the connection between architecture and design play the main roles in “tRACK”.

The T connector

The striking T-connector is stylish and powerful.

Numerous varieties of metal surfaces bring all of the expertise from “Volume K by Kesseböhmer” to light: poles in matt nickel, black or alpine white microstructure and connectors in chrome gloss, black, nickel, copper sunset or gold can be combined – in contrast to each other or in the same color.

berbel Downline: induction hob with integrated extractor

Innovative cooktop and extractor hood

With the Downline and the Downline Compact, berbel, the manufacturer of innovative ventilation technology from Rheine in Westphalia, offers technology in a double pack.

Downline combines a modern induction hob with an integrated, powerful extractor hood and the patented berbel principle for highly effective air purification.

Ingenious technology for more user-friendliness

The induction field of the berbel cooktop extractors has an intuitive control that is located in the middle of the front edge.

Four spacious cooking zones are controlled via this control panel using sensor buttons and offer the right size for every cooking and pan format.

Downline Compact: compact technology, clear design. Photo: berbel

The practical slider can be activated with a simple tap or a slight wiping movement to control the different power levels. Various automatic modes adapt the fan power perfectly to the respective requirement during the cooking process.

In addition to heating the cooking zones, the menu button offers numerous cooking functions that make it easier to prepare various dishes.

The hob itself impresses with a completely flat surface so that the entire cooking surface can be used. The innovative ventilation in the middle of the berbel downline is equipped with a moveable Powermover.

It is held in a central position by a magnet; if you move it to the right or left, the flow-optimized detection of rising cooking fumes on the respective cooking side can be increased.

In addition, the inclined guide vanes of the inlet grille support the effective extraction of vapors and odors.

Centrifugal force

Like all berbel extractors, the bowl fans also work with the power of the centrifuge. Greases, oils, vapors, smells and moisture are sucked in with high fan output and redirected and separated inside the berbel in a double arc.

Bad smells move on. Greases, oils and moisture are deposited on the impact edges and can be easily removed there.

Cleaning is convenient because all parts of the separation unit are accessible and so easy to wipe out. The individual elements are easy to remove and can be cleaned in the dishwasher.

The Downline Compact is also an all-rounder and equipped with the patented berbel principle. The entry-level model has a one-piece inlet grille and four cooking zones.

Innovative refinements for more comfort

And the berbel downline can do even more. The cooktop extractor is the only hob fan on the market that offers the option of connecting an external light source. This is controlled using the hob’s touch controls.

Different applications are conceivable here: above the hob, in the immediate kitchen area or below in the base as base lighting. With berbel extractor hoods, there are almost no limits to the use of individual lighting options in the kitchen.

Exhaust air or recirculating air – free choice of operating mode

With the exhaust air variant, smells and moisture are completely transported outside. In combination with the flow-optimized pipe system from berbel, the technology enables a maximum volume flow. In the recirculation variant, the large-area activated carbon in the filter adsorbs bad odors up to 97 percent.

The heat is returned to the room and is thus retained one hundred percent. With berbel extractor hoods, the activated carbon only needs to be changed every 2-3 years without changing the filter. Added value for the environment through a technology that inspires.

Hettich: New comfort zones in the cooling unit

Quadro Compact with fresh features

Refrigerators are now much more than simple devices for storing food. Useful features help make everyday kitchen life more and more comfortable for users.

Hettich makes its contribution as an innovative solution provider for the “cold sector”.

The manufacturer has now sensibly supplemented its Quadro Compact product family: The current full extension program for fresh food compartments surprises with new, intelligent functions for ergonomic work, a complete overview and easy access to all the supplies in the refrigerator.

Hettich: A different kind of refrigerator with Quadro Compact 2 in a line: With this pull-out trolley, a second box pushes upwards and enables convenient food removal. Photo: Hettich

With a load of 20, 40, 60 or 80 kg, the Quadro Compact product family can serve the entire drawer portfolio in the refrigerator – from the small, internal fresh storage compartment to the large, wide front drawer.

The full pull-outs from Hettich impress with their smooth, smooth running properties and maximum lateral stability. The Silent System damping ensures a controlled, quiet closing process.

Now there are new, clever features for fresh food compartments from the Quadro Compact series. They help to make handling in the kitchen noticeably easier again.

Also perfectly synchronized in XL: parallel system

The parallel system of the Quadro Compact offers significant comfort gains, especially for large formats.

This means that even the extra-large front pull-outs can be opened or closed at any point without any effort – a light tap is all it takes.

Hettich: With the help of the Quadro Compact unlocking technology, fresh food compartments can be completely removed from the refrigerator and carried with their contents to the kitchen workstation. Photo: Hettich

The parallel system from Hettich takes care of the perfect synchronization in the background. A traction system with covered wire ropes provides the necessary lateral stability and smoothness.

Protected effectively against dirt or icing, the parallel system can now reliably demonstrate its special qualities: elegant smooth running and extremely quiet running performance for fresh food compartments with a wide range of installation depths.

And thanks to the pull-out function, the user has a complete overview and full access to all cooling supplies after easy opening.

It all happens: unlocking technology for fresh food compartments

This means that all the ingredients are available right where they are needed. – And let’s go with vegetable chops! The clever release is available for the Quadro Compact FE 20 and FE40 pull-out versions.

More storage space in a duet: Quadro Compact 2 in a line

Another cool idea for kitchen planning: As an alternative to the classic refrigerator with a rotating door, pull-out trolleys can be installed directly below the kitchen worktop.

Thanks to the sophisticated technology of the Quadro Compact 2 in a line, even hard-to-reach storage space is optimally used for cooling supplies: when the pull-out trolley is pulled out, a second, recessed box automatically lifts upwards and the contents can be removed very easily.

Elegant finish: comfort for wine cabinets

For wine lovers, the correct storage and tempering of their fine wines is a must for optimal enjoyment.

If you don’t have a wine cellar, you can buy a wine cabinet instead.

The Quadro Compact is also used here: With its elegant, dark appearance, the smooth, smooth barrel and the optional features such as the Silent System or Stay Close, the Quadro Compact FE 20 pull-out guide is made for wine shelves. Well get it!

FRANKE: New patented filter technology

New filter tap Franke Vital – Fresh, clear and tasty

In house4kitchen 2019, Franke presented the first filter tap with the Franke Clear Water Capsule System under the motto “Ready Steady Drink”.

Thanks to the new patented filter technology and an extremely small filter capsule, it dispenses tasty and healthy drinking water directly from the filter into the glass.

Franke launches three Vital models of fittings: the “2 in 1” solutions with a classic fixed spout or as a trendy Semi Pro version and a compact Vital Top version as a standalone mixer exclusively for filtered water.

Patented filter system
The new Franke Vital is planned in the color variants chrome / gun metal and black / stainless steel look. Photo: Franke GmbH

The Franke Clear Water Capsule filter stands for quality and performance “Made in Switzerland” and is the first system of its kind that combines an activated carbon filter with a bionic membrane technology.

In a multi-stage filtering process, more than 99% of bacteria, viruses, germs, microplastics, rust, chlorine, odors, pesticides and drug residues are reliably removed from the tap water.

For this purpose, an extremely fine-pored pre-filter first removes all major dirt particles from the water.

In the second step, bacteria and microplastics are removed through the bionic 0.06 mm thin membrane using nanotechnology.

Finally, the activated carbon filter ensures that dissolved impurities such as chlorine as well as the last odors and flavorings are separated from the drinking water.

As a result, the water not only tastes better but is also much healthier.

As it flows directly from the fitting directly into the glass, maximum product safety and hygiene are guaranteed.

Sustainable space miracle
Franke: the new Franke Vital filter tap features the Franke Clear Water Capsule Filter, the first system of its kind that combines an activated carbon filter with a bionic membrane technology. Photo: Franke GmbH

The handy filter capsule sits directly in a separate outlet of the tap and is only 7 cm high and 3.3 cm wide.

Other installations, for example in the base cabinet, are not necessary – the space can be used for other purposes, such as an optional Franke cooling unit to make the tap water even cooler and more refreshing. At just under 20 cm wide, it is one of the smallest cabinet refrigerators on the market.

Franke Vital: The extremely small filter capsule is sufficient for 500 liters of filtered water and is integrated into the tap so that the water flows directly from the filter into the glass. Photo: Franke GmbH

An integrated filter saturation indicator signals the consumer in good time that a filter change is pending. This succeeds quickly and effortlessly without tools.

Despite its compact dimensions, the filter capsule is sufficient for 500 liters of filtered water. This eliminates the tedious transport of water bottles and at the same time saves money.

The filter capsule consists mainly of plastic-free material and can be disposed of with household waste – this reduces recyclable waste to an absolute minimum.

Three models to choose from
Franke Vital: The “2-in-1 solution” with separate outlets for filtered and unfiltered tap water. Photo: Franke GmbH

The Franke Vital is available in different designs and colors.

As a “2 in 1” solution, it delivers filtered and unfiltered tap water from two separate outlets – ensuring 100% hygienic separation. The unfiltered water can be obtained either from a high fixed spout or a semi-professional pull-out spout.

The third stand-alone version only delivers filtered water. Vital is available in the trendy color variants chrome / gun metal and black matt / stainless steel look.

Hettich: Intelligent furniture for interactive work

Team office with a high feel-good factor

Adaptable office equipment is required for the permanent change between concentration, communication and withdrawal. They create the right ambience for higher work efficiency, improved productivity and greater well-being for employees.

The hardware specialist Hettich offers the industry time and again stimulating ideas for intelligent technology in furniture and individual office design.

“An attractive office environment with flexible and ergonomic workplaces has become an important competitive factor for companies,” explains Ralf Müterthies, Head of Market Intelligence at Hettich.

“In doing so, important trends become clear: the office worlds are becoming more comfortable and their equipment is geared to the needs of the employees. Hettich presents creative concepts for modern office equipment that make everyday work easier for users. ”

Lounger with many functions.

The office lounger brings comfort to the team office. The new workplace concept enables work while sitting, standing and – completely new – even while lying down. At home, the sofa is often used to work with a laptop or tablet.

The lounger in the team office combines an office couch with practical storage elements. Photo: Hettich

Now this trend has also found its way into the office, e.g. at start-up companies. The comfortable office couch invites you to either “power napping” or, thanks to the various adjustment options, it can also be used for relaxed work.

The sideboard under the couch offers useful storage space: Be it a pull-out tray for filing or a spacious cabinet drawer, in which the urban office worker can stow his e-scooter and recharge during working hours.

Flexible upholstered soundproofing walls

Flexible soundproof walls can also be used directly at the office desk. For concentrated work, the upholstery is simply folded up, creating a sheltered berth.

Adjusting the desired height at the desk and getting started: The electromotive lifting column system LegaDrive Eco is easily telescopic. Photo: Hettich

If the pad is then folded again, it means open to the conversation with colleagues. And the office sofa is also equipped with foldable soundproof walls, which provide a visual and acoustic retreat as needed.

The sofa also has a seat depth adjustment for individual adjustment to the height or the desired seating position.

SmarTray: Intelligently and securely organized

The modular, compact SmarTray by Hettich fits under the desk as much space as in any cupboard. The material tray system impresses with its high material and processing quality as well as its comfort features such as Push to open or the damped self-closing mechanism with Silent System.

SmarTray fits under every desk. Especially convenient is the vent and cable outlet for safe charging of electrical appliances. Photo: Hettich

SmarTray is lockable and has convenient cable entry points for charging electronic devices. The choice of case colors and heights opens up a variety of design options.

Thanks to the Quadro full extension with Silent System, the entire material tray can be pulled up so that even large items such as notebooks can be conveniently stowed away.

Legadrive Eco

Height-adjustable desks are becoming increasingly popular, as they allow back-friendly working while sitting or standing. An attractively priced entry-level option is the electromotive lifting column system LegaDrive Eco from Hettich.

It is easily telescopic and has stable lifting columns with a comfortable stroke of 500 mm. The concealed drive is stepless and very quiet.

Thanks to the platform, the eco-lifting columns can also be combined with other system components of the LegaDrive program – thus giving you more design freedom for the furniture industry.

Organizational talent: Big Org@Tower narrow

Multifunctional office furniture is in the limelight: Big Org@Tower, the organization system for high containers from Hettich, offers versatile storage space and at the same time serves as visual and sound insulation.

The new version “narrow” is much narrower than previously. Inside, the individual organization dominates, whether with lockers, the convenient ComfortSpin turntable or a fold-out storage space for the few folders in a paper-poor office.

Even more concepts for the office can be found in the Design Gallery.

Schwinn: Kitchens become less of a workspace

Schwinn changes things up in the kitchen: Grabbing attention with textured railing pulls

Subtle, delicate, or expressive like a torsion pipe in a power plant – the new Schwinn railing pulls cover a wide range of textures and all of them are available in any length.

With this new collection Schwinn, known mostly for their pulls used in living room and bathroom applications, is making a strong push into the kitchen market. The new products are shown at SICAM 2019 in Pordenone, Italy.

Expressive like a torsion pipe in a power plant. The new Schwinn railing pulls cover a wide range of textures and all of them are available in any length. Photo: Schwinn

As kitchens are integrated into an open plan, they become less of a workspace. Transitions are seamless and relaxed accent pieces are showing up in places where everybody is coming together to cook, bake, eat, and celebrate. Decorative hardware is part of this development.

There is no doubt that railing pulls are an important part of many kitchens. With this new collection Schwinn is using an on trend and varied design language. The designs range from very slim but sturdy to substantial with solid material.

Precise craftsmanship demonstrates its strengths in industrial style

Embossed steel tubes with diagonal lines are reminiscent of cooling pipes used in power plants. The faceting is created by triangles forming diamond shapes. Knurled aluminum bars are referencing nutmeg graters without the sharp edges.

The “Torx” screw heads on the sides of the pull recall imagery of machines and engines. The bark-like texture is appropriated from anchors used in the construction industry.

The overarching theme for all new Schwinn railing pulls is an industrial style reaching back to professional and commercial kitchens. Surfaces and textures are finely detailed and realized using special techniques. These handles feel great to the touch and look stunning on any kitchen front.

Multiple different bases and bars are the key elements for endless combinations. Schwinn supplies railing handles in any length covering all possible center to center dimensions. Metallic finishes are dominant and range from titanium to bronze, gold, and matte black.

The “Vienna Cane” pattern – a modern design classic – is now woven into a new pull design

Open, delicate and distinctive – a new tab pull presented at the Schwinn booth at SICAM Pordenone, Italy, October 15-18, 2019. Inspired by the prominent design of the woven cane seat of the Vienna coffee house chair, the new see-through tab pull allows veiled views of the cabinet in a kitchen or living room.

Schwinn: A new tab pull is inspired by the prominent design of the woven cane seat of the Vienna coffee house chair. The new see-through tab pull allows veiled views of the cabinet in a kitchen or living room. Photo: Schwinn

Developed around 1850 by Michael Thonet who captured the charming character of the Vienna coffee house with the design of his chair this woven cane pattern is currently experiencing a revival in furniture design. Beyond a renewed interest in the traditional chair there are new applications of the design and material in screens, lighting, furniture door panels, and table tops.

Capitalizing on its expertise and nearly 100 years of knowledge of working with metals Schwinn was able to translate the essence of the design into a tab pull. The functional character of the pull respects the aesthetic and cultural value of its inspiration.

Schwinn was able to translate the essence of the “Vienna Cane” design into a tab pull. The deep matt black tone characterises stylistically the 1930s. Photo: Schwinn

The basis of this weaving technique, which uses 4 thin stripes of cane, stretched in 4 directions, probably goes back nearly 4,000 years, are 2 horizontal stripes, 2 perpendicular stripes, and 2 diagonal stripes of cane.

This octagonal pattern was expanded by Ruediger Wolf, who designed the Schwinn pull, to create a harmonious structure. A structure that allows the pull, which is available in 32 and 160 mm C/C, to be used in a non-directional way in a variety of applications.

The new tab pull “Vienna Woven Cane” is suitable for panels up to 19 mm and is fastened to the back of the panel with wood screws. The material can be plated, powder coated, or painted allowing almost unlimited options for custom finishes.

Design competency in decorative hardware – Schwinn connects contemporary design to classic Bauhaus

100 new tools in 15 months, a new collection every year, and a dedicated team of in-house designers and engineers – these are just a few facts that document how important the design and development of custom and exclusive products is for Schwinn.

Typical elements of Bauhaus design play an important role in the Schwinn design development. “Schwinn 2Z384” for example, a circular segment pull, celebrates intersecting geometric shapes. Photo: Schwinn

Schwinn will once again present a range of handles, knobs, hooks and furniture feet showing the depth and breadth of Schwinn’s design oriented approach as a major supplier to the furniture industry.

Right on time for SICAM 2019 Schwinn is publishing an updated version of the “Mood Book 2020” first shown at Interzum. Printed in a limited edition of 150 copies, this large format, opulent volume showcases mostly new designs. It is an expression of a deep dialog with design told through emotionally charged metallic colors, accessories and the sensuality of textures.

Bauhaus principals are the core of the daily work at Schwinn. The differences between art and craft are eliminated through designs that express an industrial style. Railing pulls for kitchens or a recessed pull in antique zinc finish, distressed and complete with decorative screws heads, are good examples for these industrial references. Photo: Schwinn

On 84 pages all carefully researched and curated relevant trends and styles are documented and shown how they have been translated into innovative designs.

Inspired by Bauhaus

The in-house design team is headed by Ruediger Wolf, who is educated in the Bauhaus tradition by third generation Bauhaus masters. In celebration and recognition of the Bauhaus anniversary typical elements of Bauhaus design play an important role in the Schwinn design development.

“Schwinn 2Z384” for example, a circular segment pull, and “Schwinn 2Z383”, a railing handle, both celebrate intersecting geometric shapes.

Beauty through function: Schwinn designed a handle for crates or chests to make lifting a heavy piece of furniture easy and safe. With a “stop-motion” mechanism the handle will not hit the furniture. Photo: Schwinn

Used as a single pull the circular segment halve is a combination of a circle and a square. When installed as a set the attraction of the Bauhaus style fully blossoms. “Schwinn 2Z383” is a play of a line intersecting a slightly angled, soft square. Viewed from top that intersection creates a harmonious cross.

Railing pulls for kitchens or a recessed pull in antique zinc finish, distressed and complete with decorative screws heads, are good examples for these industrial references.

Beauty through function.

Functionality is always the foundation for Bauhaus design and Schwinn product development. This basic design goal is best expressed in an innovative Schwinn design for a handle for crates or chests. It was designed to make lifting a heavy piece of furniture easy and safe. With a “stop-motion” mechanism, similar to the ones used in marine applications, the handle will not hit the furniture and provides an ergonomic grip.

Schwinn customers can choose from a collection of over 1500 designs in 24 different finishes. All original Schwinn designs are design and copyright protected.

At the center of the SICAM exhibit was a large work bench style, rustic, solid wood table with concepts, prototypes, and final stage designs meant to be picked up, touched, examined and explored. A wonderful opportunity to get inspired and together develop new, customer exclusive solutions.

Kesseböhmer: Clever Solution for Chaos

„SpaceFlexx“ tidies up pull-outs
Kesseböhmer: The chaos in the pull-out for storage containers has come to an end. Photo: Kesseböhmer

The organising principle is so simple and ingenious: A framework of chrome-plated metal struts and plastic components connects five innovative horizontal dividers that can be moved along the struts. This innovation made of high-tech textile webbing “made in Germany” is called „nesttex“ and heralds undreamt-of possibilities.

Kesseböhmer SpaceFlexx is the new way of stowing food storage containers of various shapes and sizes, saving space and providing clarity in pull-outs. Photo: Kesseböhmer

Irrespective of their shape and size, stored goods can simply be inserted between the dividers and intuitively sorted or nested. „nesttex“ adapts itself to any container geometry and to the pull-out itself thanks to its elasticity. So everything can take its fixed place between the flexible webbing – without clattering or slipping around. This creates clarity and good access – not least because of transparent zones in the woven fabric. And it saves having to pre-sort everything.

„SpaceFlexx“ is a retrofittable modular system that is easy to assemble without tools and fits in all pull-outs upwards from 60 cm front panel width. As a high quality and highly technical material, „nesttex“ promises high performance and longevity. It is machine washable and can be cleaned in next to no time.

According to a survey by Kesseböhmer, 98 percent of all households in Germany use food storage containers; however, over 70% express dissatisfaction with their current storage situation. Even though the manufacturer has initially set its sights on the kitchen with the new product, „SpaceFlexx“ is proving to be as flexible as its users and is ideal wherever order needs to be restored amongst chaotic paraphernalia: in the bathroom, wardrobe or office, in the dressing room or utility room.

Whether in the wardrobe, in the niche or in the kitchen: Hettich’s WingLine L is the folding door system that is convincing in a wide range of applications: Wherever it gets narrow and open revolving doors would protrude too far into the room, the folding sliding door system becomes a practical problem solver. Corner cabinets, base cabinets or sideboards gain functionality through the comfortable folding door fitting.

Thanks to WingLine L, unused storage space can now also be accessed under stairs and sloping ceilings, making it visually appealing. For top-mounted and wall-mounted cabinets in the kitchen, WingLine L can play to its full advantage as an ergonomic alternative to the flap. And last but not least, the system surprises with its large-format wardrobes with its fascinating panoramic opening effect.

With a height of up to 2400 mm and a width of 600 mm per door leaf, the fitting provides an overview and access to the entire contents of the cabinet. Due to the small door entry WingLine L also allows the combination of drawers and pull-outs behind the folding sliding door.

Awarded several times: The WingLine L by Hettich stands for a new design freedom with a high comfort factor. Photo: Hettich

As the innovative folding door system also enables the implementation of handleless fronts, it meets the most modern design requirements. WingLine L can be used for all common door leaf formats and can be conveniently mounted without tools. Thus, even large cabinets can be built on site by just one mechanic.

REHAU: The Smartest Drinking Water Dispenser

Intelligent all-in-one solution for convenient drinking water consumption

Drinking water is the most valuable commodity. With RE.SOURCE, the new mains-connected drinking water dispenser, polymer specialist REHAU delivers fresh, filtered tap water that is chilled, sparkling or boiling hot from one appliance. At the same time, it meets the highest requirements in terms of safety and convenience for private homes and business premises.

For example Germans drink an average of 175 litres of water each from plastic or glass bottles per year. Buying bottled water costs time and money – and the environmental impact of disposing the empty bottles is huge.

Thanks to its activated carbon filter with pre-coat technology, the RE.SOURCE drinking water dispenser from REHAU can supply fresh, filtered water directly from the tap, as both chilled and sparkling. It combines easy-to-use operating elements with modern design to deliver top-quality drinking water.

RE.SOURCE PREMIUM+ from REHAU: An inbuilt child safety lock guarantees the safety of the hot water function. Photo: REHAU

RE.SOURCE is an under-table unit available in three configurations: BASIC, PREMIUM and PREMIUM+. The inbuilt activated carbon filter with pre-coat technology and a filter capacity of 5,000 litres removes microscopic particles up to 0.5 μm, as well as chlorine, organic substances and metallic deposits like lead and iron.

The high-pressure C-shape or L-shape fitting, available in chrome and matt, dispenses filtered, hygienic water at different temperature levels. Carbon dioxide can be added to produce sparkling water, if desired. The cooler with its adjustable chilling temperature and a cooling capacity of 15 litres per hour is no louder than a standard refrigerator.

Smart functions with RE.SOURCE PREMIUM and RE.SOURCE PREMIUM+

RE.SOURCE PREMIUM and RE.SOURCE PREMIUM+ offer extra features in addition to the options provided by the basic version. A clear, touchscreen display allows users to select whether they want their desired drink to be dispensed chilled or non-chilled from the tap.

REHAU: RE.SOURCE PREMIUM and RE.SOURCE PREMIUM+ offer extra features in addition to the options provided by the basic version. Photo: REHAU

The filling quantity and level of carbonation can be individually adjusted. Users can save their personal favourite combinations, so they can be poured even faster. With its integrated stainless-steel boiler, RE.SOURCE PREMIUM+ also provides hot water up to 95 °C for tea and hot drinks.

An inbuilt child safety lock guarantees the safety of the hot water function. This is deactivated by entering a code on the touchscreen. The heating process is indicated by a colour change on the display. To prevent overheating, the appliance is fitted with a safety valve. Excess water is diverted into a drip tray.

With an integrated energy-saving mode and automatic hygienic rinsing, RE.SOURCE PREMIUM and RE.SOURCE PREMIUM+ offer users added convenience and safety. The required energy-saving and rinsing intervals can be defined using a web interface.

If the appliance is not used for 72 hours, a message appears automatically on the screen and a hygiene rinse can be carried out to prevent germ formation at an early stage. Regular status updates indicate in good time if the filter needs changing or the appliance needs descaling.

Easily installed, individually adjusted

RE.SOURCE can be installed in just a few steps by attaching the high-pressure fitting and the under-table unit directly to the water pipe in the kitchen base unit. One ventilation hole in the underside is all that is needed to ensure optimum heat extraction.

REHAU RE.SOURCE: Commercially-available 425 g CO2 cylinders can be used. Photo: REHAU

RE.SOURCE is designed for water pressure of between 1 and 6 bar; the recommended water pressure is 2.5 bar. This can be individually adjusted using a water pressure reducer from the REHAU product range. Neither softened water nor a pre-installed hot water connection is required in order to use RE.SOURCE.

Reliable cleaning and replacement

RE.SOURCE’s individual components are easy to clean and replace. If the carbon dioxide has been used up, commercially-available 425 g CO2 cylinders can be installed in the under-table unit. It is also possible to attach 2 kg, 6 kg or 10 kg CO2 canisters via an external connection using a gas pressure reducer available separately.

This makes RE.SOURCE particularly suitable for use in commercial settings. Cleaning and descaling are equally straightforward: the pipes are cleaned with a cleaning cartridge filled with detergent. This can be obtained either directly from REHAU or from third-party suppliers on the Internet. Maintenance should be carried out twice a year in commercial settings and once a year in private homes.

About REHAU

The REHAU Group is a polymer specialist with an annual turnover of over 3.5 billion Euro. It is an independent and stable family-owned company.

SCHOCK: Gold is en Vogue

Golden Days in SCHOCK’s Anniversary Year

With the founding of SCHOCK 95 years ago and the invention of the quartz composite sink, a golden era of sink design began. And in this anniversary year, these Golden Years of SCHOCK manifest themselves in two ways.

With the new CRISTADUR®, SCHOCK has made its best material even better – setting a new yardstick in the gold standard of the sink world. The best ever CRISTADUR® is even more hard-wearing, robust and easy to clean. CRISTADUR® also shows off its colours to even better effect now.

Golden colour collections are the second expression of the golden anniversary year: gold is en vogue. It is an expression of glamour, value and purity. Gold has always fascinated people. Whether you combine it with natural, dark woods or use it to contrast with concrete surfaces, gold is here to stay in interior design. In this anniversary year, SCHOCK will add some new facets to the on-trend colour.

SCHOCK Sina. Photo: SCHOCK

The new Gold Brass finish adds a light brown shade to the CRISTADUR® colour collection. The brass in the name combines with the golden hue to produce a slight metallic-green shimmer under certain lighting. Gold Brass can be combined with many kitchen finishes: blended with dark wood such as certain oaks, American walnut or teak wood from certified sources, the kitchen exudes an air of luxury.

The CRISTALITE® Golden Line is also growing: Cascada is a new and fashionable colour reminiscent of the golden age. Cascada is a dark cream with a hint of gold, which is a perfect match for the big interior-design trends of the day and cuts a fine figure surrounded by natural finishes and coarse woods as well as in an industrial-style setting.

A golden thread runs through the entire product range: SCHOCK has also introduced a new White Gold finish for its mixer taps and sink trim. This is a colour currently experiencing a renaissance in the handles of kitchen drawers and cabinets. Along with the familiar Copper and Gunmetal finishes, cool Champagne Gold also joins the ranks of the PVD coatings.

White Gold is available as an exclusive upgrade for CRISTADUR® sink trim (pop-up, basket strainer, drain cup and overflow cover). And matching mixer taps come in the fixed spout versions of the Dion designer tap, the new Resi farmhouse-style tap and the Kavus and Laios models, all of which will be available in White Gold.

Brilliant Explosion of New Products with Material Innovation

95 years of SCHOCK, 40 years of SCHOCK sinks – the manufacturer of quartz composite sinks and high-quality mixer taps is not only coming to area30 with two anniversaries to celebrate. As an innovation driver brimming with the spirit of invention, SCHOCK is also bringing numerous innovations to the exhibition grounds in East Westphalia. Alongside new sinks, accessories and mixer taps, the focus is on material innovation.

Always looking to make the best even better, sink pioneer SCHOCK has further enhanced its exclusive CRISTADUR® material. With an improved formula, the new CRISTADUR® is taking the world of sinks by storm. It is even more elastic, easy to clean as ever, even more long lasting and therefore even higher quality.

SCHOCK offers ideas for where and how to use stylish gold hues on several levels at area30. As the first colour for the new CRISTADUR® finish, SCHOCK has added Gold Brass to its portfolio, a shade of brown a touch lighter than bronze which give a sense of luxury. The CRISTALITE® Golden Line has acquired a new shade called Cascada.

SCHOCK GoldBrass WhiteGold. Photo: SCHOCK

Behind the name is a dark cream colour, which also conveys a hint of the much-loved precious metal. There’s golden news for the mixer taps range, too: SCHOCK is introducing a new White Gold finish for various mixer taps and trim parts to go with CRISTADUR® sink models. And alongside the on-trend finishes Copper and Gunmetal, cool Champagne Gold is another PVD coating.

The sink is much more than just a sink. Nowadays it is a central area for prepping food. SCHOCK has long been driving this trend towards multifunctionality with cleverly designed sinks and matching accessories – making the concept available for every size of space. The well-known models Prepstation D-150 and Mono D-100XS are just two examples.

SCHOCK silicone drain mat. Photo: SCHOCK

New additions to the range – the Greenwich N-100XL and Greenwich N-200 models – are two classic undermount sinks featuring no drainer and an integrated lip. While the Greenwich N-100XL with its external dimensions of 750 x 456 mm boasts one large sink, the Greenwich N-200 has the same dimensions split between two sinks.

What both models have in common is that they fully live up to their reputation as multifunctional, professional sinks with interesting accessories: In addition to wooden and plastic chopping boards, a rack to hold Gastronorm accessories creates an interface to professional-style extras.

SCHOCK Evinas. Photo: SCHOCK

As stylish extensions to the SCHOCK portfolio, a portable draining board available in silicone or stainless steel finish and a designer draining rack in various colour variants are perfect companions for various undermount sinks.

SCHOCK will be unveiling a highlight in the form of the new Tia D-100L. The first sink to be seen in the new CRISTADUR® material not only shines with its perfect finish; with genuinely clever and practical accessories it is also a real help in the kitchen.

This new model is an excellent match for the increased demand for large sink bowls – and it’s not the only one: the above-mentioned Greenwich undermount models and the Ronda D-100XL and Wembley D-100L are also great for fans of large sinks.

SCHOCK Laios Copper. Photo: SCHOCK

SCHOCK boasts a second material innovation in its accessories range. Fibre-Rock is a new, matt black chopping board finish that combines the properties of a wide variety of materials: It is dishwasher safe, easy to clean, has a cut-resistant, smooth surface and at the same time is easy on the knife blade. Fits all 500 mm wide sinks.

SCHOCK supports the trend towards multifunctionality with its new mixer taps, too. Boasting technical refinements such as the ultra-quiet aerator for a soft and quiet water jet, or the pull-out spout to increase your radius of action at the sink, SCHOCK mixer taps are state of the art. At the same time, it is the designs that ensure maximum diversity in the kitchen.

SCHOCK Laios W Pull Out. Photo: SCHOCK

SCHOCK has developed six new mixer taps for the 2020 portfolio: the Resi, a high-quality farmhouse mixer tap, the industrial-style Tanos, the semi-professional Sina, the Papilio with its unusually flat spout, the Evinas entry-level mixer tap and the flexible Laios W suitable for installation right in front of the window.

Premium Sink Helps with the Food Prep

The experience of 40 years of sink history and the customer needs of the future have been combined by the innovative manufacturer of quartz composite sinks and high-grade mixer taps in the Tia D-100L. The new sink model is part of the explosion of new products that SCHOCK is unveiling in 2019, the company’s anniversary year, and will of course be presented in the new CRISTADUR® finish.

SCHOCK Tanos. Photo: SCHOCK

The best ever CRISTADUR® is based on an improved formula. It is easy to clean, even more hard-wearing than before and even higher quality. And on the outside, the patented premium finish boasts a compelling silky texture and feel and a range of intensely shimmering colours. Its premiumness is also reflected in the new Tia D-100L model. The sink’s innovative design translates into a genuine sink experience throughout the entire lifetime of the product – in both design and functionality.

Customers in the premium segment have especially high expectations of their sink: It must be able to do far more than the sink of yesteryear. Today’s sink is a food prep zone and should be able to support its users during this process as well as the subsequent clearing up. SCHOCK has been pursuing this aspiration in innovative designs for quite some time – and the first model released for the launch of the new CRISTADUR® finish is no exception: The Tia D-100L is special!

SCHOCK Resi. Photo: SCHOCK

The new sink, measuring 1000 x 500 mm, is designed to fit in a 60 cm base cabinet. With a width of 472 mm and a depth of 198 mm, the sink boasts a generous amount of space in line with what today’s kitchen users want. Its straight-line design featuring an all-round moulded edge reminiscent of a shell gives the sink its special character and lends it a timeless, harmonious style – and prevents any water or dirt from overflowing onto the worktop. Customers can choose from nine CRISTADUR® colours.

The Tia also has a great deal of functionality to offer: Its large sink bowl features an integrated lip for hanging and laying accessories, some of which have been specially designed for this model, opening up a whole new dimension for sink usage. The optional accessories include a set of variously sized functional trays in dark plastic: The large colander bowl serves as a temporary place to put offcuts during food prep and is easily lifted out of the sink thanks to its side handles.

SCHOCK Laios WhiteGold. Photo: SCHOCK

The three small lidded containers are great for storing food and stack conveniently in the refrigerator for example. The three small containers fit inside the large colander. The result is a clean and tidy sink at all times. Even your dishwashing brush and sponge can simply disappear in the space between the large and small bowls.

A multifunctional rack is also available to hold Gastronorm containers or other kitchen utensils – just perfect for the semi-pro cooks among SCHOCK’s customers. And the multifunctional range is rounded off by further optional accessories, such as trim parts available in different looks, alongside chopping boards in the new Fibre-Rock material and foldable draining racks in various finishes.

SCHOCK Launches Mixer Taps Offensive

In the kitchen, the sink and surrounding area are of crucial importance. As a place for prepping food, a help when cooking and a cleaning zone, the sink fulfils a variety of functions. That is why SCHOCK is not only constantly rethinking the quartz composite sink but also chooses to give it the perfect complement: SCHOCK mixer taps.

SCHOCK Wembley GoldBrass. Photo: SCHOCK

SCHOCK is now expanding its portfolio for 2020 with a real mixer taps offensive in its anniversary year 2019. The new and exclusive designs suit the most diverse of kitchen architectures, from cool, industrial-vibe loft to farmhouse kitchen.

The farmhouse kitchen is back on consumers’ minds, the trend regaining some its old popularity. The Resi is SCHOCK’s response. The high-grade farmhouse mixer tap made of solid stainless steel embodies a feeling of home and is also available in the new White Gold PVD coating. The ultra-quiet aerator ensures a soft, quiet water jet at high flow rates – keeping things nice and peaceful in the cooking zone.

SCHOCK Evinas Pull Out. Photo: SCHOCK

At the other end of the style scale is the industrial vibe. It channels the functional, rugged look of industrial plants – and is one of the style-defining trends of recent years. The Tanos is a mixer tap that picks up on the theme, bringing a factory look into the kitchen.

The stainless steel effect provides a high-quality aesthetic, while the ultra-quiet aerator, which produces a smooth jet of water with less splashing, and the choice between fixed and pull-out spout offer maximum convenience. An additional design highlight is the attractive knurled finish on the pull-out spout.

SCHOCK Evinas Fixed. Photo: SCHOCK

The new semi-professional Sina mixer tap is aimed at the ambitious cook, bringing something of the restaurant kitchen into your own home – and providing just the support you need during the cooking process.

For example, the pull-out spout featured on the full stainless steel mixer tap extends your radius of action when rinsing things at the sink and you can also switch between beam and shower jet to suit your needs. The height of the mixer tap is specially chosen to fit nicely under wall units.

The various zones of the home are merging – a longstanding trend that shows no sign of abating. With the Papilio, SCHOCK now has a mixer tap in its range that boasts a bold design and an unusually flat spout. The Papilio brings a bathroom sink look to the kitchen and is available in chrome and nine CRISTADUR® colours.

SCHOCK stainless steel drainer tray. Photo: SCHOCK

The Evinas complements the mixer taps portfolio with its classic design: The brushed full stainless steel mixer tap has been designed to appeal to traditional kitchen buyers and is available with either a fixed spout featuring an ultra-quiet aerator or with a shower head spray.

To provide a solution for every kind of kitchen architecture, the Laios W rounds off the range of new products. The under-window mixer tap features a bayonet catch and the popular L-shaped spout. This full stainless steel model also creates a peaceful working atmosphere in the kitchen thanks to the ultra-quiet aerator. The Laios W comes in two versions with a fixed spout or a pull-out spout.

SCHOCK design drip grid Brushed Copper. Photo: SCHOCK

With the kitchen sink evolving into a food prep space and a design feature, the focus is increasingly turning to the kitchen tap. So, besides adding new mixer taps, SCHOCK is expanding its existing portfolio to include new colours and coatings – giving you even more freedom to express your individuality in your choice of kitchen tap.

The Kavus and Laios will be available in the PVD coatings White Gold, Copper and Gunmetal, too; the Laios will also be available in nine CRISTADUR® colours.
